Guy Parker-Rees
My dad is an amazing children’s book illustrator, however his internet presence needed a bit of an update.
Insert old website here.
The old website does well do capture his playful, bold style and personality.
The great thing about having a close relative as a client is that I know them deeply. That intimate relationship and understanding just can’t be found at an agency. I decided to lean into this and sought to build a website that truly represented him.
There were no brand guidelines, deadline, or constraints, which allowed me to push further into characterful web design than a typical client project would.
This project means a lot to me because it sits at the intersection between craft and care. Building something technically interesting for someone I care about, in a way a generic digital agency never would.
I’ll leave you with some of my favourite details.
